Do you have a U3 memory stick?
 
Let's start at the beginning. Go to: Control Panel/System/Device Manager/DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Right-click on the drive/Properties/ what does it say your drive is exactly.

Then go to IDE/ATA controllers/right click on Primary IDE Channel/Properties/Advanced Settings/. What "Transfer Mode" does it say for Device 0 and Device 1?

Do the same for the Secondary IDE Channel.
 
U3

A U3 memory stick is a flash drive (USB) that you can store and run programs on vs a flash drive that just stores data.

I have seen many threads on the web about the TSST and the fact they have died, the power is there but the laser is gone. Have you been able to use this drive for anything? Installing a program from a CD, playing a music CD, etc? If not, it may be gone.

The HP 840d appears to be the same as the 840e. the lastest firmware for it is here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...us&dlc=en&submit.y=5&submit.x=5&lang=en&cc=us

When you are trying to copy the CD, which drive do you have the original in? If you have been using the TSST, that may be the problem. Try using the HP840 and see if CloneCD sees it.
 
i play music all the time and i install **** all the time works fine

both of teh dvd drives work just fine. i dotn kmow what is going on. clonecd is just not recognizing it. anymore suggestions
 
when i open clonecd i cant even press any of the buttons and sometimes it just freezes. I have reinstalled and unistalled it like 5 or six times. it just doesnt recognize either one of teh drives. it just says searching for atapi drives or something like that
 
Do you reboot after the uninstall and the install? Did you install in the default folder or choose your own?

What version of CloneCD do you have and have you tried another download to see if the one you have is somehow corrupted?

Click Start, Run
type regedit

Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Check the values in "LowerFilters" and "UpperFilters". List everything there in your next post

4. Exit out of all Slysoft programs and reinstall

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Clonecd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Clonecd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Download Clonecd beta http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupCloneCD5302.exe
e) Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
f) Reinstall
g) Reboot

there is only pxhelp20 on lower and nothing in upper
 
DVD/CD-ROM drives is under default and under class is cd romm

Then your slysoft software isn't installed properly. Should be more than Pxhelp20.
Possibly a 3rd party program is blocking your installation like a firewall or antivirus program
that isn't functioning properly.
