    He just means this:

If you just want the main movie to backup with Shrink, do this:
Right click on Anydvd on the toolbar, and select "rip-video dvd to harddisk". After you're finished ripping you should be able to import the main movie only into Shrink (Click "reauthor" and then browse to the location of the video_ts folder. Then drag and drop the main movie over to the left).

Saw 3 has not been released yet in region 2 (Portugal), but I have a feeling I'll be able to do a full backup (with menus and extras) with DVD Shrink only!!!:D

    Disc 1 volume c

How do I send the info to disc1_vol(c)? how did you get anydvdripper to rip saw 3? Couldn't do it, and clone was choking on the movie also.

And if Anydvd 6.1.3.2. and Clonedvd 2.9.0.3 are having problems with your original disc, then chances are the original disc is bad even if it plays fine.

    Question for Webslinger

Forum ,thanks for the help. Webslinger, I finally got the main movie of saw 3.{with Nero and anydvd}. My question is: any dvd would not rip it, kept hanging up, so did clone dvd. I am still on trial for clone dvd 2, but I was very disappointed it didn't work. Maybe it was the disc. I received an error to clean disc. I cleaned it as best I could, but nothing. Thanks for any help you can give:confused:

Nero Recode? It was probably just luck. A disk that's slightly damaged may read fine on occasion, but you need to keep retrying over and over again. It would be better to simply replace the original.

That would be my guess. It might have been the method you used as well.

Please read and follow http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 step by step (print it out if you have to)

    Saw 3 and problems/fixes reported

I am a newbie here. I tried the workaround using ANYDVD 6.1.3.2 and Nero Recode. After the files were copied to the drive I got an error that it could not find vob.07. This happened 2x. I did get the main move, but as posted above, am missing the menu and extras. The other thread is closed so if anyone has any new info it would be appreciated. Thanks ANYDVD and DVD Shrink got an immediate error which has been posted already.

There's a chance you may already own Nero 6.6.1.4 or higher. Update to the latest version of Nero that you have, and use Nero Recode to import the disc directly with Anydvd running on your toolbar.
Recode 2.2.6.17b from Nero 6.6.1.4 should work in addition to Recode 2.5.2.0 from Nero 7.8.5.0. Casino Royale R1 will work for a full disc backup with Nero Recode and Anydvd: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1726950&postcount=32

In other words, if you have those versions of Recode, you don't rip first using Anydvd ripper.

That is all you will get with Anydvd ripper.

You must use Anydvd ripper with Shrink--and you will only get the main movie. Right click on Anydvd on the toolbar, and select "rip-video dvd to harddisk". After you're finished ripping you should be able to import the main movie only into Shrink (Click "reauthor" and then browse to the location of the video_ts folder. Then drag and drop the main movie over to the left).

The region 1 version of Saw3 had more protection than that. In fact it had more protection than anyone had ever seen before it released.

Yeah, region 2 is quite a bit different than region 1.
