Hello, is hardware encoding supported with the NVIDIA GeForce MX 330 (2 GB) ? I'm testing the following Thinkpad: https://ok1.de/ThinkPad/ThinkPad-T14-14/ThinkPad-T14-20S1S07800::2034.html I'm using the current Lenovo driver(s). In CloneBD I can select: - decoding Software / Intel or Cuda - encoding Software or Intel (Cuda is grayed out) :-( - FurMark uses the Nvidia automatically Can / should I install other Nvidia Drivers? Which one? I can check tomorrow. Regards
FurMark and CloneBD are two different things and can not be compared. Please read here regarding F.A.Q || CloneBD 1.x.x.x HW acc doesnt work. What to do? https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/f-a-q-clonebd-1-x-x-x-hw-acc-doesnt-work-what-to-do.71266/
CUDA support for H.265 (UHD) is only available starting with GTX 9xx, better GTX 1xxx or GTX 2xxx. Not sure what is needed as minimum for H.264 (BD). I worked for me with a GTX 7xx. I don't think it will work with your MX 330 at all.
Every result i see on google for that model indicates the MX330 is a new device released in february THIS YEAR. So while it SHOULD work, everything depends on the compute capability the tools report. However looking on https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus the MX330 isn't listed. So either it won't work with that card, or the page hasn't been updated. Please read: https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/f-a-q-clonebd-1-x-x-x-hw-acc-doesnt-work-what-to-do.71266/ or https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/compute-capability-for-clonebd.71439/ and follow the nvidia instructions
CUDA is not mentioned for MX 330 / Optimus. https://www.nvidia.com/de-de/geforce/gaming-laptops/mx-330/
Euh yeah it is. Literally on the first line, 2nd column under "Technologien" > "NVIDIA CUDA - Technologie". But then it isn't listed under "Technische Daten", while OpenGL and OpenCL are, so it's kinda hard to know which section is correct.
I have to correct myself. It's listed under 6.1 with Pascal GPU GP108 and should be equivalent to the GTX 1xxx
MX330 lacks NVENC. See here 3.19 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units
Thaks for the input. Now I have a code 43 in devicemanager after updating the system. :-( Anyone of the pros knows a solution? The CloneBD GUI stats Cuda ?!? Is the MX 330 supportet ? Regards
Yes, because that's the term most people know (and also - CloneBD uses CUDA as well for image preprocessing). Apparently not, sorry.
