I understand perfectly how code works. Designer in a way myself. What you don't seem to realise it's that you've likely gotten YEARS worth of updates for a good price. The bigger discounts are reserved for users who bought eg a lifetime license and only got a few months out of it. Making it a very expensive few months with very few updates. Big difference. As also stated above, you need to dig some more info researching what the initial discount plans were. They were going to send out mails to LTL's but realized what a massive burden that would place on support. On top of that they couldn't possibly contact every single user due to out of date email addresses. They're already swamped with people for the 2 bigger ones. So instead of overloading the support staff they made it an automated discount directly applied through the store. Just because you get a smaller discount doesn't mean you're any less appreciated. You got years worth of updates, others at most a few months. So they get the bigger discount.
You paid slysoft, not redfox. You keep comparing the 2 as if they are the same, they're not! Blame the CEO for taking so the cash with him and leaving the staff with nothing, and the USA for giving the MPAA/aacs-la civilian authorities way too much power and forcing their laws onto foreign countries where they have 0 jurisdiction.
Now, again, debating the discounts is over. The options were lined out months ago and debated even longer ago. You have a choice to make, but nobody will like you any less regardless of your choice.
