Many thanks you guys. I know we gave you guys a lot of whining over that but as usual your promise was kept. Thanks again to everyone involved in that process. DQ
Even though I haven't used it in a longer time, I did in the past and I have a lifetime license. Now I can keep using CloneBD in the future
In addition to the new CDB version being released I received TWO emails on bug reports I submitted months ago. And someone kept insisting CBD was dead. HA!
The changelog still makes me cry. SIGH Very nice to see a new version. Very sad to see one thing missing. I will still try it shortly anyway just in case it's not listed. Nice to see some development on this regardless.
Turn that frown upside down, b**hes! They DID add it! CloneBD now supports adding Dolby Vision to MKV's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you guys, Elby! It's a new checkbox at the final selection screen so you can choose whether to include it or not. I'm testing it out on The Batman as we speak. YEY!!!!!!!!!!!! EDIT: Well, that was short lived excitement unfortunately. Yes, it shoves the secondary video track into the MKV container. No, this isn't what is needed. According to your log, if i read the limited into correctly your source is "H:/108BDUT-TheCardCounter-MONUMENT/The.Card.Counter.2021.MULTi.COMPLETE.BLURAY-MONUMENT" Going by that folder name and the way it's written, lets write it down as a possibly illegal download. Which means that's most likely a preprocessed ISO that may have been altered in unknown ways. Not a valid test.
Um, WHAT? No, it does NOT "make MKVs the same way MakeMKV does". That's the point! The developers will understand the point I made with the data I showed. They are NOT the same and what CloneBD does is unfortunately completely useless as absolutely nothing on earth will be able to play the Dolby Vision track they add. MakeMKV combines the data into a single video track following a "standard" the MKV community created that is used by everything...tools like mkvtoolnix, makemkv to players like Kodi and Plex. By NOT following the standard that was created, the MKVs that CloneBD is providing aren't playable anywhere. (To those thinking I may be a little harsh with "completely useless" this is not a slam on the developers AT ALL. I appreciate the work they've done here. It's just that nothing will be able to utilize their work which is unfortunate)
Unless it is able to create an MKV DV (Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU), it is useless because various players like NVIDA SHILD cannot play it.
I apologize. I didn't notice the small notes "CloneBD" and "Makemkv" between your comparison. You are right. Should be identical to what Makemkv produces.
I also need to check if the bug in 1.2.9.2 has been fixed. https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/uhd-bluray-bug-in-1-2-9-2.80831/
Have you tried turning hardware decode off and leaving hardware encode on? That worked for my AMD setup.
I need to try that. Currently I try converting an UHD to MP4 keeping Dolby Vision. That result will be interesting. And BTW 1.2.9.1 worked OK at high speed for UHD -> BD.
Conversion from UHD full disc to main title works for MP4 format keeping DolbyVision. Audio will be reduced to 5.1. Dolby Vision Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU. Dolby Vision works on Oppo clone and LG C7 TV. Please note: Makemkv MKVs will NOT work on LG C7 even if they are according to the spec. All Oppo clone users have now an alternative using MP4 but with audio reduced to 5.1 but keeping Dolby Vision.
1.2.9.2 and 1.3.0.0 Hardware decode on approx. 7fps, hardware decode off approx. 60 fps 1.2.9.1 Hardware decode on: 180 fps
Confirmed. This is a bug for MKV. MP4 works with DV, just reduces audio resolution. @Pete please have a look.
