Although some of you may already be aware of this, I thought I'd make an effort to contribute instead of ask a question.
Nero Recode 2 also has picture settings within it just as Shrink does. They're: sharp, maximum sharpness, smooth, and maximum smoothness. There is a more-involved way of changing this setting through the registry, however, there is also a very useful little tool that will do it for you. It's called Nero Recode AEC Changer, and it can be downloaded here:

I backed up Smokin' Aces twice both Recode, both times in the advanced analysis-high quality mode. Once with Recode's default settings, and once again after changing the setting to maximum sharpness. I viewed them on a 50 inch widescreen LCD in 720p using the up-conversion HDMI output of my dvd player.
Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between my original disc, or the two backups I made with Recode. I thought that maybe someone else out there might like to try it.
Hope ya like it!
