I have a collection of DVD and BluRay disks that I'm in the process of backing up on to a NAS, with the ultimate goal of creating a NAS media server. After backing up the disk, I'm using CloneBD (for the BluRay titles) to create lossless MKVs (or MP4s). Since, ClodeDVD does not have the ability to create a MKV or MP4, it was suggested I use CloneDVDmobile since it's capable of creating MP4.
I used CloneDVDmobile on a title and it created a MP4 file that's 1.73GB (I didn't see any setting options to change the size of the output). It's also been suggested that I use MakeMKV. I did, and on the same title, MakeMKV created a MKV file size of 3.78GB. As one can imagine, picture quality and playback (on my 55" TV) is significantly better with the MKV file.
I'd like to keep it in the "family" if possible so what's the chance of getting the developers to add lossless MKV or (near lossless) MP4 to CloneDVDmobile?
