Mono sources made into stereo?

Why is it that Reclock receives 2 channel audio for mono sources when I'm playing back in WMP12, whereas in Graphedit rendering the same file (MKV with FLAC), it shows 1 channel audio. I have the 'Output mono sources to both front channels' disabled. So therefore mono movies are played on Front L/R even if that option is off. I'm using an x-fi with analog output and WASAPI exclusive.
