What brand and model optical disc drive did you use to read the disc? What firmware version did you use? Lite-On DVDRW LH-20a1P MS driver version 5.1.2535.0, only drive on the system. I do not have nor have I had Daemon Tools or some of the other usual suspects on the system. I have no problems with Medieval Total War II (base game) itself, just with these expansions.
