Java SE RE 7 & 8 receive critical updates

Impacted products: Oracle Java SE 7 Update 97, and 8 Update 73 and 74 for Windows, Solaris, Linux, and Mac OS X are affected.

Interesting, both of my Win 7 PCs checked for a java update earlier this morning and nothing came up.

No problem.

I assume that the security disclosure and web download went live before being available via the updater tool. I usually find out about Java updates and install them before the internal update checker ever notifies me that there even was one.
