iTunes to Virtual Clone Drive

I'd like to export my itunes library for use... well outside of just iTunes & iDevices. But I don't want to waste a disc everytime I have a few new songs to break out of DRM.

Can Virtual Clone Drive work in this fashion? So mount a drive, use iTunes to rip an MP3 disc to it, then just drag & drop the MP3 files to where I want them.

Unfortunately, VCD is read only. :( I wish it were R/W, but it isn't. (And yes, I'd happily pay for a R/W version.)
