Folks, I'm having problems ripping the Canadian rental version of "Bombshell".

On inserting the disc in my DVD drive I get an extended wait while the disc is scanned and then I get the following report:

Current profile: DVD-ROM
Media is a DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 2084960 sectors (4072 MBytes)
Total size: 4169920 sectors (8144 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: BOMBSHELL
Media is CSS protected!
Media is locked to region(s): 1!
Video Standard: NTSC

Using local database!
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
RCE protection not found.
UDF filesystem patched!
Patched DVD volume label!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Removed CSS copy protection!
Found & removed 39 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

I've attached the logfile and hope you can come up with a solution.

The disc does not appear to be damaged or dirty.

Is Lionsgate up the their copy-protection tricks again?

Update is on the way...

Please try AnyDVD 8.4.7.1: https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/anydvd-hd-8-4-7-1-beta.78284/
Please let me know...

If CloneDVD wants to repair the disc, let it finish.

So I ran 8.4.7.1 and apparently get the same response from AnyDVD:

Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD HD 8.4.7.1, BDPHash.bin 19-09-17)
HL-DT-ST BD-REBH12LS35 1.01
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Upon running Clone DVD2, and only choosing the 1:48:37 title, I again encountered the repair disc action:

I let it run to conclusion and now have an (apparently) good copy. I'm running it now to see if it completes.

Not to sound ungrateful, but still, a little painful to get here....

Sorry, should have included this with my previous message. See attached.

8.4.7.2 in combination with CloneDVD2 2.9.3.6 didn't work for me initially. but then I thought of a comment by a Peter Quinn in one of the Knives Out threads (that I'd followed successfully with Knives Out) which was to create an AnyDVD logfile (attached) and then try to copy the DVD again. I gave it a try, and I was able to copy the US Bombshell DVD successfully on the 2nd attempt with no other changes by me than to create an AnyDVD logfile. I'll leave it to the experts to determine why it worked.

You might want to use CloneDVD 2.9.3.7: https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/clonedvd-2-9-3-7-beta.78320/

Hi,
I'm having problems with Bombshell as well. No matter which app I use to create my backup, I end up with a non working set of files.
Also, I NEVER see a title that lists 1h 47 mins, the only title I see is 1h 34m. I have included the logfile. Have used the latest version
of Anydvd (8.4.7.3), as well as downloading the latest Clonedvd from the link in this thread. Any ideas?

A little patience please. It's weekend for the developers too, and if it's a new complicated protection who knows how long it would take to crack.

Looks to me like a defective / dirty disc and / or drive.

I understand patience, but acknowledgement helps.

Yes indeed, that's exactly what it was. I tried again this morning using an LG externam USB drive that I keep just in case, and it worked.
Was very slow, but managed to read the disk and I was able to see the track for the 1h 47m choice. Thanks James. I wasn't being impatient
btw, just looking for an acknowledgement that what I included was enough.
