I did a forum search for this topic, and did not find an exact match for the issue I'm facing. Apologies if this is a duplicate report.

Action: "Rip Video Disc to HardDisk..."
Result: FileIO error while ripping "Indignation"

AnyDVD Ripper error dialog text:
"FileIO 3 VTS_13_1.VOB 5384255488 479232" <-- Attempt 1
"FileIO 3 VTS_13_1.VOB 5381275648 430080" <-- Attempt 2

AnyDVD summary about this disc:

I've also tried AnyDVD HD 7.6.9.0. This first goes through a "repairing damaged structure" phase, then rips everything but VTS_13_NN.VOB, which is the movie data.

I have rebooted Windows, and retried numerous times, and the rip fails at generally the same place. This is what is recovered before AnyDVD fails with a FileIO error:

MB File Name
27 VTS_01_1.VOB
426 VTS_02_1.VOB
64 VTS_03_0.VOB

Please read this and try again https://forum.redfox.bz/index.php?threads/52659/, we need the full logfile not a copy of the status window.

That said, anydvd isn't designed to work inside a virtual environment like VMware. Try it in an real Windows setup.

It is a bad disk. It fails to play properly on my Sony BPD-S6700 player. The middle of chapter 2 skipped to chapter 4, and the last 2 chapters failed to play. These where the two places I observed AnyDVD fail during rip. Mostly AnyDVD would bail at about 27%, and once it got past this and got to 94% then failed.

Thanks for the tip about posting the log file. Will do next time I encounter an actual issue with AnyDVD.

BTW: I've used SlyFox/RedFox on Windows running under VMware Workstation for years: works perfectly. I'm a Linux person, and only run Windows when I have no alternative.
