I have been having a problem getting movies to rip to the HD (VOB Error)

Can someone offer any suggestions as to what could be causing the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Update to Anydvd

    2. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

There's no protection on that disc other than CSS (nothing special).

I use the old DVDShrink program with AnyDVD running in the background, to back up my discs with no compression to my hard drives. I watch the backed up versions using WINDVD8 Platinum with no problems at all, and I haven't run into any discs that I cannot back up.
