HD movies begin playing 1/3 way in?

The backed up hd (hddvd) titles when played with PDVD Ultra begin playing about 1/3 of the way into the movie. They can't be scrubbed back to timcode 0:00 or using chapters back to chapter 1. If you try to scrub the video or navigate back to chapter 1 it just jumps 1/3 way in a starts playing there. using: powerdvd ultra 7.3, anydvd hd 6.1.8.4 trial, xp pro, 8500 GT, vga monitor
 
what build of 7.3? And what films from which region?
