Forum was down for maintenance

Server underwent a significant update, not just some minor 5 minute patch. Things probably are still settling and getting used to the new things.

It wasn't the forum that got maintenance, but the actual server it runs on.

Indeed there have been some significant peaks of "bad bot" traffic after reboot (like Ahrefs, Dotbot, MJ12bot and other useless Webcrawlers) which slowed down performance.
Most bad bots are blocked now.

There's also good bots you know, the likes of googleboot etc
