Forcing to blu-ray

And why I say again that limiting yourself to one format over the other is ludicrous. For instance, I just ordered Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy on HD DVD to be delivered tomorrow. That's going to rock. But, come October I'll be getting all 3 Spiderman movies for my son on BluRay(I like them, too, but, he's the true dedicated Spiderman fan!). I would rather focus on content than what format it's on. Get both, ignore the war. (tm) ;)
Just remember to buy the HD DVD version, if a disc is available in both formats. It usually has more extras / features anyway. :D

Yes, I know. This is also one of the reasons I stopped buying movies locally. The MORONS refuse to treat HD DVD properly. On release day, you can ALWAYS find the BluRay version of a movie on the shelf but no HD DVD. The website for the store claims it's in stock, but, they don't put it out. So you have to hunt it down which is ridiculous. Not to mention they charge 8-10 bucks more than Amazon. So, Amazon it is for me from now on. I've had enough of that. So I will admit that I was impatient when 300 came out and got it on BluRay. I know I should have waited for the HD DVD, but, I wanted it right there and then. Future titles I won't have this issue.

300 on Blu-ray has ... less features. ;)

I thought the porn companies chose Blu-Ray. The best solution is to just buy a hybrid player which can do Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, lol.

Yes, I'm QUITE well aware of this. However, as was pointed out to me, I can always netflix the HD DVD to check out the special features. :) In the future, this won't be a problem.

Hint...the porn industry, since the invention of the Internet as a public medium, couldn't give a damn about either high def format. Everyone keeps talking about how porn is going to settle the debate over BluRay vs HD DVD. I call BS on the whole argument. It's going to remain a VERY small niche market on both formats. Sony has recently relaxed their restrictions about porn being on BluRay, but, that doesn't mean much.

Why would Sony care if porn was on Blu-Ray? They would benefit financially from it.

You'd have to ask the morons as Sony about that. They've done a lot of things that have gone contrary to benefiting them financially. However, when BluRay first came out, porn companies were trying to get their content put on the format and Sony refused to license the technology to them. So a lot of them went to HD DVD. Now, you gotta understand, however, that HD in general is a ridiculously small market. They were getting all jazzed up about 250k copies of 300 being sold in one week on BOTH formats combined. The porn market, by comparison, is SUBSTANTIALLY smaller so we're not talking about a lot of sales. And I'm serious when I say it really doesn't matter anyway...most people now a days get their porn online if they're into that sort of thing. And let's face it...there are some things I wanna see in HD...porn is probably NOT one of them. :D

Yeah. It would be stupid to buy it when you can get it off P2P programs for free.

That's probably a large majority of it, you're right. I was thinking more along the lines of buying it online or purchasing streams and stuff, but, yea, people probably do get a lot of it on P2P.

While I prefer to see most things in all their beauty :D my upcoming High-Def upgrade will not be influenced by XXX industry. BBC's Planet Earth or The Matrix Trilogy, now that's more like it...:agree:

I still need to get Planet Earth. I heard that's extremely well done. It'll have to wait, though. I've just ordered both Bourne movies on HD DVD to be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait for those.

Don't HD-DVD movies run between $20-$30? How do you guys afford this?
