• AnyStream is having some DRM issues currently, Netflix is not available in HD for the time being.
Situations like this will always happen with AnyStream: streaming providers are continuously improving their countermeasures while we try to catch up, it's an ongoing cat-and-mouse game. We get tickets in support and inquiries here about an error message when installing AnyDVD. The typical error looks like this:

http://forum.slysoft.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=16327&d=1301074181

This thread condenses info from several other threads so the critical parts are easier found.
This will show how to quickly identify a possible/most likely cause and the recommended fixes. First, to the background.
Some time ago we began noticing more and more program DLLs anchoring themselves on a value in the Windows registry called APPINITs.
Some of these are "neutral" and may not affect AnyDVD but some find a way to hook themselves to the "start-up" process for AnyDVD and "ride along".
AppInit_dlls entries are usually there to hook into arbitrary applications.

When we detect that, the show is over and AnyDVD will not load until this "ride along" is stopped. There is a technical/security reason for this I'd rather not go into here.

FIRST check this:

FOR x 32 you open the registry w/ START and in the "run" field, enter REGEDIT. Hit ENTER or OK. Open these tree stem items:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_DLLs

Look there for an entry there and check the list here.

FOR x 64 you open the registry w/ START and in the "run" field, enter REGEDIT. Hit ENTER or OK. Open these tree stem items:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows\AppInit_Dlls

To quickly see if there is something hanging on that registry value:

Click start and in the "run" field, enter REGEDIT. Hit ENTER or OK.

Then check this list:

1. The most often determined cause is "Airfoil".

AirfoilInject3.dll

Disable AnyDVD in Airfoil on their toolbar/filter option to add anydvd to Airfoil's exclusion list or please disable the "hijack mode" (it may be called similar) in Airfoil
This modifies AnyDVD in memory. AnyDVD doesn't like being modified.

2. Suspected possible AppInit DLL

acaptuser32.dll

especially if you do not have that Adobe product installed.

3. NVIDIA poorly written driver: nvinit.dll

We have feedback from several users that rolling back this driver will fix this.
- Go to: Control panel> Device manager. Open Nvidia card's properties
window, then driver details tab. If any driver files remain, go to the
folders(s) displayed & delete them manually. This will ensure that only the
driver you are about to install will be assigned to the card.
- Re-boot in normal mode.
- Download driver version 8.17.12.8574, dated 30 Nov 11, works for me.
Downloaded from your laptop/PC website. May vary depending on your machine.
- Install, then reboot when prompted.

This is not intended as a discussion thread but is condensed from several threads on this subject scattered across the Forum.

This is not a discussion thread.
