WIP: Work in Progress. Will be updated when more answers become available
CloneBD supports the following hardware accelerated methods CUDA (nVidia), UVD (AMD APP) and QuickSync (Intel). Please see the appropriate section.
F.A.Q. || CUDA (nVidia)
Q. What is the OLDEST model card that will work with CLBD's CUDA mode?
A. Chipsets starting from "Kepler" should be supported (found on most GTX 600 series). The oldest one Elaborate Bytes has available for testing is a GT 740 which goes up to 180FPS.
Q. Are there any restrictions for CUDA support on a card?
A. Yes. The driver "interface version". It is unknown by elby from which driver version on nVidia switched to version 2. However CLBD uses version 2. One of the test PCs had a version 1 driver (windows kept insisting it was the latest one). As soon as the latest one from nVidia directly was installed, it was all good
Q. What if my system/card uses version 1 and a version 2 driver is not available?
A. Then CUDA mode will not work
Q. Where can i see if my card supports CUDA mode
A. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/cuda/supported-gpus?field_gpu_type_value=All (up to page 3, interface version still applies)
Q. What is the oldest supported operating system?
A. Known working is Windows 8.1 or higher, Windows 7 should work but no guarantees
F.A.Q. || UVD (AMD APP)
Q. What is the OLDEST model card that will work with CLBD's UVD mode?
A. TBA
Q. Are there any restrictions for UVD support on a card?
A. TBA
Q. Where can i see if my card supports UVD?
A. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder#UVD-enabled_GPUs (click "show" under Engineering name)
Q. What is the oldest supported operating system?
A. Known working is Windows 8.1 or higher, Windows 7 should work but no guarantees
F.A.Q. || Quick Sync (intel)
Q. What is the OLDEST supported CPU that will work with CLBD's QuickSync mode?
A. TBA
Q. Are there any restrictions on QuickSync support on a CPU?
A. Yes, your CPU must supports and the system must be properly configured to do so
Q. Where can i see if my CPU supports QuickSync Video?
A. http://ark.intel.com/search/advanced?s=t&QuickSyncVideo=true
Q. What is the oldest supported operating system?
A. Known working is Windows 8.1 or higher, Windows 7 WILL LIKELY NOT WORK!
