ERROR: AnyDVD bus decryption failed! Please reinsert disc!

Ok. Everything seems to be working with 8.6.7.1. (DVD/BD/UHD) Here's a log with MakeMKV installed of a BD that says bus encryption is enabled. No magic with this drive, that I'm aware of. I'm not going to lie, this BUS ENCRYPTION stuff is out of my area of expertise. o_O

Funny, you picked a disc, which does not require bus encryption.
For testing, your Jigsaw or SAW_D1 BD discs require bus encryption. Anyway, AnyDVD 8.6.7.2 will work with your magic drive even with UHD without MakeMKV installed. If you have time to test this, feedback would be great. Enjoy.

I don't have the SAW bundle with me (loan to a friend). I did HOCUS POCUS UHD (ugh) will that work? I will have Home Alone back soon too.

Test with and without MakeMKV installed, with a drive power reset each time.

Yes, UHD discs will always ask for bus encryption.

Thank you. It works with and without MakeMKV and your magic drive. Very nice.

I want one of those. LOL
For those interested (I know that you are) AnyDVD 8.6.7.2 has some radical changes.

1.) AnyDVD will check the AACS content hash right away, before it does anything else. This will detect magic drives or an already running LibreDrive. If the hash matches, it will do nothing, except showing a warning if bus encryption should be expected.
Simple test: Use your drive with LibreDrive. Exit AnyDVD. Start it again. It will detect, that bus is unencrypted and do nothing.
2.) AnyDVD will always utilize LibreDrive, if MakeMKV is present and bus encryption is expected. Even for non-UHD discs*.
3.) LibreDrive failure will no longer be considered fatal. AnyDVD will simply try it itself. This will work for non-UHD dics or friendly UHD drives.
4.) After bus decryption AnyDVD will check the AACS content hash. If this fails, AnyDVD will disable bus decryption and try again. To catch the rare case that LibreDrive works even while AnyDVD thinks it doesn't.

I hope this catches all LibreDrive related problems / situations.

*may change LibreDrive back to UHD only in the future.

Wow, this is excellent, James!

Looks like you have a lot of bases covered - sealing off those pesky bus encryption anomalies that tend to get through - lol.

I especially like #3! LibreDrive didn't remove bus protection? - AnyDVD handles it on its own. :=P

Sounds solid, kudos!!!

Gonna try the test in #1...

Ran this test.

First, still using 8.6.7.0 I mounted a UHD Disc and AnyDVD called on LibreDrive to get rid of the bus protection.

I exited AnyDVD, then kicked it off again and AnyDVD re-scanned the UHD.

Next I installed 8.6.7.2, and ofc, AnyDVD scanned the UHD again.

UHD drive remained unchanged and untouched throughout.

I see the message in 8.6.7.2 that it detected no bus encryption for the UHD...

Nice!

8.6.7.0 ofc, didn't display any warning after the re-boot.

However in both scenarios the Disc played correctly after AnyDVD booted back up.

So no message in 8.6.7.0, but AnyDVD didn't stumble either - LOL.
