Admittedly, in this case I was using an unofficial conversion setting for the i8910 Omnia HD, however, this DVD causes the same encoder crash no matter what settings I use, I've tried iPhone and various generic divX settings, they all error out instantly
 
here's the error message when trying generic divX conversion from that DVD.

(the DVD plays back fine in media player, though its a crummy 4:3 aspect ratio DVD)
