I just got a 1981 movie on DVD that won't play on my player for my TV but will play in my computer drives. Does anyone know why that is?

Is there a utility to verify a legal file structure of a disc?

Wrong section, not an anydvd issue. Anydvd doesn't play discs.

I know wrong section.
I did take a look at your file.
It shows to be PAL.
Many newer players will play both PAL & NTSC .
If you are in the US & your player is older it may not.
I suggest you try in another player.
The region of the PAL DVD may also be wrong for your payer.

That's news to me I don't recall US players are only NSTC and unless you pay out the nose you might find one that plays both pal&ntsc. Player is older will still play unless it is worn out or a defective drive.

@Recycle

This one plays PAL & NTSC : It's from Amazon.
I found it with a quick Google search.
It seems reasonable @ $63.99 US .

The DVD player Robert York has may be region locked and/or NTSC only.
I have no idea the age of his player .
He may not even live in the US.

If he posts again he can clear this up.
I made my post base on the limited information .

I would ask a moderator to move this thread to an appropriate section of the forum .
