DVD to HD, then back to DVD-R later

Well, gee, that mighta been my problem from the beginning. I was starting out by using the "write existing data" button.

You only do that when you want to burn using the .iso file you created as the source.

The first step is to rip an .iso to the hard drive.
The second step is to burn the .iso to a dvd.

If you don't compress when you rip, you will likely need to use a double layer disc to burn onto.

And it only shrinks when it has to right? I mean, it'll keep the best quality possible? If the original is smaller than 4.35 GB, it won't try to shrink it smaller?
