I make a backup of The Corporation with the newest CloneDVD2 on a Memorex DVD+RW DL disc. I was going to bed so I ticked the option to shutdown my laptop when it was done. The DVD will not play in my DVD player but will play on my computer so I assume it was not finalized. Has anyone experienced or heard of this issue? Is there a program that can finalize the disc?
You sure that "W" is supposed to be there? Regardless, Memorex +R DL is junk. http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=2516 No. Clonedvd worked fine if the disc plays in your computer. The issue is between your standalone dvd player and the media you're using. Take a good hard long look at http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=2516 (especially points 2 and 4)
The discs say RW on them. I know they are not the best discs but I have burned over a hundred movies with them with no issues and that is the only time I used the shutdown when finished feature. Maybe I will try it again. Thanks for your reply Webslinger.
You sure that doesn't just stand for the RW alliance? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD+RW_Alliance /shrug Your loss (if they are Memorex +R DLs) visit http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4846221&postcount=4
The discs say DVD+R DL with an RW logo under that. At the top of the disc it says "recordable - 2.4X - 8.5 GB - 240 min"
Ok, so "RW" here just stands for "RW Alliance". Again, I recommend taking a look at steps 2 and 4 from http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=2516
Bitset You might also want to have the booktype for the +DL disc set to DVD-ROM, not as a +DL. That helps playback capability on some players.
