Do we need SlyPlayer or just a Blu Navigation Filter?

I know SlyPlayer is in the works to do basic (eg non java menu) playback but....We already have video, audio decoders and renderers we like, but to play back a Blu-ray disk from our favorite direct show players all we really need is a direct show navigation filter and an audio decoder for DTS-MA.

Would it be possible for SlySoft to release the navigation filter (if such a thing has already been developed as part of the Alpha coding)?

No. SlyPlayer doesn't use DirectShow.
