I assume that VCD will eventually get a digital signature right? Probably around the same time it gets 64-bit support?

Note: I'm not nagging for 64-bit support :bang:

Exactly. As 64-bit Vista requires signed drivers anyway.

No. Microsoft figured they could require it for 64-bit since there was essentially no backwards compatibility requirement (there was for all intents no installed base of 64-bit Windows yet).

They would have never gotten customer acceptance of that for 32-bit.
 
wow heh, never knew that, i thought vista32 required even shell extensions to be signed... interesting
