I understand that AnyStream actually downloads the stream and decodes it without recompressing video/audio data. Is this how it differs from similar offerings? What puzzles me is that e.g. the "AVC Netflix Video Downloader" claims to support multiple audio and subtitle tracks while AnyStream doesn't.

AnyStream is having some DRM issues currently, Netflix is not available in HD for the time being.
Situations like this will always happen with AnyStream: streaming providers are continuously improving their countermeasures while we try to catch up, it's an ongoing cat-and-mouse game. What third party tools support or not is irrelevant and of no concern to redfox. The single reason why AnyStream doesn't support multi-track is simply because it hasn't been added yet. That's it.
