I can rip a movie DVD to a folder, but I can't rip an other DVD. The system tells me, DVD not recognized.

I like to create iso images or others or even only rip to a folder some of my game DVS's as a backup. I don't like to burn copies to a DVD.

Can I do this with any of these tools ?

Thanks

you can make an iso with clonecd by naming the file (name).iso, you must have anydvd running though (if its a movie).

So I can only unlock protected DVD's, CD's containing movies.

Any idea how to create a ISO or backup CD/DVD out of a application/game ?

Sometimes DVD's contain an error or are scratched and then not readable 100% anymore. Having a backup of ISO would solve this problem.

clone cd is the program to use to make a copy of a game. i havent used it so i couldnt tell you exactly how to use it.

you could also use gamejackel so you wouldnt need any cd or dvd for the game. you just start gamejackel, start a profile, and start the game. usually you just need to go to the start menu and quite and then its done. then all you have to do is click the gamejackel profile (you can replace the icon with it) to play the game.

CloneCD will make an image of any CD/DVD you have. You can then use Virtual CloneDrive or another image mounting tool to mount the ISO in a virtual drive. It works with game discs, DVD Video, etc. Very easy to use. With AnyDVD running, load CloneCD and click read. That's it.
