Just got an Alienware aurora r4 with an i7-4820k cpu. Would an upgrade to a i7-4960x give me enough improvement using clonebd to make the upgrade worthwhile?

Not really, they're both nearly 6y old. If there's going to be one it'll be negligible. Even a 3y old GPU like the 970 would probably blow them both out of the water
