codecs ? ? ?

    Sorry to even bother you folks with this but I did not know where else to look for info.
    Out of all the movie/video/film clips that people either send me or I down load,it seems I can play only about 10% of them and the others all seem to have codec issues or license probs. I have purchased different codec packages but they don't seem to help.
    Can anyone out there educate a newbie?

    i use the k lite codec pack, its free and i have yet to find a movie it cant play (thats not a corrupted file)

    Before installing the K-Lite codec pk...try to fimd all references of the previous pks. and delete them. Many Codec pks. can cause more harm than good.
