As danger said VOB passthrough works fine you can also make an iso of just the main movie. The wd-tv does not support any menu system that is why you just do the main movie only.

[Ipod Video - Forced]

HI all,
I couldn't find one like this, so wanted to post it.
I took several ideas (none of them mine) and put this together

it's just like the normal ipod ini file, but handles the forced subtitles the right way (ie, shows subtitles for say german scenes but not subtitles for the english parts of the movie). I've tried it with Defiance and Valkyrie with perfect results checking the english subtitles box and I had success with both 1pass and 2pass.

I'm brand new to the forum and NOT a techie guy, but got this to work and just wanted to share it. Hope it helps someone.

I'm using it on an ipod touch 2nd gen, upgraded to the iphone 3.0 software. I'm using CDM ver 1.2.0.1 (NOT the newwest 1.6.1 which i'm told does not like/recognize the forced subtitles line) and itunes 8.2.0.23 (latest) and quicktime 7.5.5 (not the newest 8 ) Just wanted to mention all that in case someone had trouble recreating my results.

Code:
[iPod Video - forced]
Manufacturer=Apple (iPod/iPhone/AppleTV)
useMencoder=1
SubTitle=1

not the right forum or post for it I suppose, but how do you do a vob pass through? I just got my wd tv and it seems all it shows are vob files, there are no names?? I got it to play dvd format movies, if there's no names associated with the files it isn't going to work for my video library......

Check here:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=27659

As I found out VOBs are limited to 30mins and then you run into timing
issues, which can be fixed I'm told but I found ISO's much better with one
problem, you have to check a movie that has multiple angles as it may have
playback issues. One I ran into was The Incredibles where there are 3
angles, 1 is English, 2 is Spanish and 3 is French. I found this out when the
movie title came up and it flickered between all 3 after a bit of checking I
figured out I only needed angle 1 in the ISO.

Direct sound copy for Divx / DD / DTS?

I'm running CloneDVDMobile 1.6.1.0. I have the MobileFix installed. I added "* Generic (XviD) DTS/DD+ Copy" to Devices.ini, but it didn't work. I read through the posts in the CloneDVD mobile 1.6.1.0 thread, and I see that Xvid is one of many problems in this release.

The few encodings I've done using the Generic Divx "device", which encodes mp3 stereo audio, have worked OK. Has anyone tried to create a Divx direct sound copy extension that would work in 1.6.1.0?

One other comment - Since this is a "Sticky" thread, if the "devices" extensions depend on a particular release, could someone please edit the posts to include which release(s) they apply to?

Thanks!
Tom

iPod Touch profile works with 1.6.1.0

The following profile works for the iPod Touch without conversion and without jerkiness caused by standard profile which creates 20fps video (no-cabac 24fps modification) and adds 640x360 for widescreen. That and 480x270 work very well with 1.6.1.0. The no-cabac solution was discovered previously by another user, and the 24fps I discovered through trial and error (choose 30fps as CDM is dropping 20% of frames). Syncs to Touch (latest 3.0 update) with iTunes 8.2.

Code:
[iPod touch Custom no-cabac 24fps]

Divx/5.1 audio copy with forced subtitles

beinhower just posted this profile http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...25&postcount=2 for AC3 sound with forcedsubs (displayed when characters speak another language during the movie). Works for XboX 360 using divx (for 1.2.0.1 - doesn't work with 1.6.1.0 because they default audio parameters anyway so audio copy fails).

I have added AllowNativeTVResolution=1 for choosing NTSC TV at 720x480.

Note that this will not display the alien speech in Star Wars movies - those are a special type of subtitle which requires a specific subtitle stream to be selected (search the forum for Star Wars subtitles for which ones depending on the episode).

Code:

RE; Ipod, Itouch, and Ps3 coding...Help please :)

So im using the following in the devices.ini file for playback on the following Devices above.

Code:
[iPod touch (Justin)]
Manufacturer=Justin (iPod/iPhone/AppleTV)
ScreenRatio=16:9
useMencoder=1
SubTitle=1
Res1=480x360
Res2=640x480
ResAna1=480x270
ResAna2=640x360
ResUnit=2
Format=avi
moac=faac
movc=x264
ABRate=128
threads=2
mopts=-delay 0.2 -faacopts br=%abrate%:mpeg=4:object=2 -x264encopts threads=2:bitrate=%vbrate%:level_idc=30:bframes=0:nocabac:nopsnr:nossim%PASS%
FileType=mp4
Quality=20
MaxVBitrate=768
AllowChapterFiles=0
MVolume=20
Remux=2642MP4
QualityFactor=130
ThumbNail=JPG

These work properly. But every time the PS3 shows unsupported data..i was reading on the PS3 website that they need to be encoded with AAC LC. How would i modify the above code to do so...currently when i look at the properties thru itunes of the files they either dont have an audio codec or they have...Lavf52.33.0. Where do i get the AAC Codec and how do i tell the above Code to use it? PS3 Supports the Following:

MP4 file format
- H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)

Id assume the same for Apple devices.

Any ideas or edits to the above code would certainly be welcomed...Your Thoughts??

Thank you all..

Got this error when I tried this format

Of course, I might have added the format to the Devices.ini file incorrectly, but this is the error message that I got when pressing the "Go" button:

File 2 "C:\Program Files (x86)\SlySoft\CloneDVDmobile\apps\mencoder.exe" - -af volume=10 -of lavf -lavfopts format=mp4 -oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=mpeg4:coder=1: acodec=libfaac:vbitrate=1203:abitrate=128:threads=2:vpass=1 -vf pp=fd,scale=854:480,harddup -aspect 1.777778 -info name="WHERE_EAGLES_DARE" -ofps 30000/1001 -o "C:\Users\Phil Erlanger\Documents\output3.mp4" -passlogfile "C:/Users/Phil Erlanger/Documents/mencmpass6024.log" 232 TCE

Encoder output:

ERROR: Invalid parameter '' for -lavcopts..

I found the error:

this line: lavcopts=aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=mpeg4:coder=1: acodec=libfaac
has a space before the word acodec.

it should read : lavcopts=aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=mpeg4:coder=1:acodec=libfaac

This was the problem for both scripts.

re: Got this error when I tried this format

It seems the forum text area is stubborn about wanting to add spaces where none exists. In any event, just remove the space in front of the word acodec, and the profile will run.

Kosh / spport: This is why you need code tags - to avoid extraneous spaces that will crash the profile.

You need to put your profile in code tags - you have a space in your lavcopts which will crash CDM. Here is the correct version:
Code:
[XpressMusic5800]

Iphone for Version 1.6.1.3 Iphone 3.1.2 iTunes 9.0.2.25

The nocabac and level_idc=30 params have been included in various posts in this thread but I couldn't see anything specifically mentioning the iPhone device and 1.6 versions.

For me this solves the problem of not being able to transfer movies to the iPhone via iTunes. Works with CloneDVDMobile beta version 1.6.1.3, iPhone operating system version 3.1.2, iTunes version 9.0.2.25. m4v files exension files are produced and can be dropped into iTunes and synched directly, no additional iTunes conversion step is necessary.

The profile appears as "iPhone AVC nocabac level30" in the devices list when running ClodeDVD.

Code:
[iPhone AVC nocabac level30]
Manufacturer=Apple (iPod/iPhone/AppleTV)
ScreenRatio=3:2
useMencoder=1
SubTitle=1
Res1=426x320
ResAna1=480x270

UPDATE: Beta version 1.6.1.5 has had the nocabac parameter added to the standard iPhone and ipod Touch profiles. I have tested and the standard profile allows successful movie transfers. This profile should no longer be needed.:clap:

Thanks, rainbow57uk - I tried this and I can confirm it also works with CDM 1.6.1.3 for the iPod Touch f/w 3.1.2 and syncs directly from iTunes 9.0.2.25 without conversion - which I was not able to do before :bowdown:
