Hi, I am having a problem with a d/l of the latest version 6.1.6.5 downloading over top of 6.1.5.5.

Even after a Reboot, I don't get the usual AnyDVD window message about the "Drive" etc.
So I suspected something must be awry.

I just installed NAV 2007, at least the software techie did at work as it is a requirement and that was a couple of days ago.

I decided to shut off the NAV totally as we have good protection here at work and then used the Uninstaller for the malfunctioning 6.1.6.5 and then since I keep all of my AnyDVD setups in a folder on my Desktop, I reinstalled the last version that I used and that was the 6.1.5.5 and did a Reboot and the program is working fine.

I don't understand what the problem is.

The software Techie thought he would take a try at it after doing a Reg Clean and also disabling NAV 2007 and Uninstalling the working 6.1.5.5 and installing the Latest version; but he had the same problem.

So we reinstalled the 6.1.5.5

I hope that some folks here have some ideas about what could be the problem.
Thankyou for your time.

Hello Sense or Cleary . . .

You and your techs appear to suffer problems often about the exact same issue. I notice you posted here as well:

This has never happened before and I don't know what to do???

This is patently false, and, moreover, you have quite the history over at cdfreaks.

I wonder if this old "trojan" issue was ever resolved adequately, Cleary?

Cleary,
Looks like you have some sort of Trojan there.
Regarding HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JackassArswareOrg\Start Right\Run and is shown as:
File c:\program files\slysoft\anydvd\anydvd exe.doe

Jackass JoeJoe's StartRight . . . even if that's not a trojan (and I understand that's normally third party freeware product) I fail to see why you're introducing other third party programs into the manner in which Anydvd launches--and then expect not to experience potential issues as a result.

I'm also guessing you managed to update your previous versions of Anydvd?

That was a very enlightening read, by the way (especially the second page of the thread).

And I find this more baffling b/c Slysoft advise me that they have found my key in multiple communities and therefore I should go and purchase another one.

Unfortunately, downloading new versions of Anydvd won't fix key blacklisting issues, regardless of whether your security software (or a trojan) impairs your capacity to download beta versions from a safe server. If remnants of the trojan remain on your system(s) that may explain why Anydvd doesn't work, why your key is found in multiple filesharing communities (simply being infected in the first place explains this)--and why it's also possible your other two keys are blacklisted as well (especially if the other systems containing those keys are infected).

My colleagues notebook is a virtual clone of mine, as we both work on the same files and both bought Clone DVD at the same time and both started having problems with the proggy after we purchased it.

If this still holds true and your colleagues' notebooks are clones of your laptop (and presumably you folks transfer files back and forth, share them, etc.), then perhaps their notebooks are infected as well (or may explain why they were infected).

Given you run such a gamut of security software, it seems an unfortunate set of circumstances must have transpired that would have even allowed a trojan on your system(s).

You and your techs, 10 work colleagues, numerous computers, laptops, etc. have a longstanding history of being unable to update Anydvd properly (and as you've explained before your 6 children in other countries all have Anydvd). And always Slysoft is somehow at fault every time you have problems updating--or even when you're told by Slysoft that you have a blacklisted key issue. You've had several threads locked and were told to contact Slysoft numerous times by other users and a mod over at Cdfreaks.

Do so.

Sense,

As you have decided not to heed what I quoted and decided instead to create a new thread and insult both Slysoft and myself, you have been banned. Your second thread has also been deleted.
