Cannot rip KNIVES OUT

Attached is my latest logfile for Knives Out and AnyDVD 8.4.5.1. AnyDVD now eliminates all main movie titles except 60. However, it immediately gives an error, File 1 F:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB 30 TCSectorReader, at 0% and stops working. It no longer tries to repair the DVD structure. I tired the temporary workaround of unchecking "preserve menus" but it still gets the exact same error.
This sounds like your disc and / or drive is dirty and / or defective.

Going by the number of reports on the same title even with the new beta, is likely a new protection is not yet capable of handling.
It should work, if the repair scan isn't interrupted.

Software begins 'Trying to repair defective DVD Structure... Please wait!'. It took about 10 minutes to reach 8% on the repair process. Doesn't seem to be able to fix it.
Let it finish the repair run.

Yeah, but what about people that don't have CloneDVD. Or should the repair function in AnyDVD work too? Any particular reason why anydvd can't just "work around" such problems and need to do a repair run? (Talking in general here, not just this specific title. Just plain bad authoring? Complex protection? Both?)

James, thanks VERY much! Even though the disc is brand new and I have been using this computer today to make three other backup copies without issues, I wiped the disc clean and used a different computer. CloneDVD2 immediately tried to repair the defective DVD structure and it took some time but was successful. The backup copy it ripped works just fine. I suggest anyone getting the same error I did use AnyDVD 8.5.4.1beta & follow your directions.

They should have bought it. 20 years ago. ;) - I did

It should. If it isn't interrupted.

Anyhow. Was having similar issues. I d/l the new beta, and used cloneDVD2 V2.3.3 - Chose title 60 and everything worked perfect.

Thank You.

I'm using CLONEDVD 2.9.3.6 and newest beta and structure stops right away and doesn't work
What version of anydvd???It worked for me using clonedvd 2936 and anydvd 8451-took about 25 minutes to repair dvd structure.

Please post an AnyDVD logfile.

You may have different copy protection than the region 1 disk that I have. If you try it later maybe it will work-Good luck! James just asked you to post logfile!

Please hold off on new logfiles until James has had a chance to examine the current ones and perhaps post a new beta.

no more logfiles for the time being
Lionsgate has a habit of publishing many different versions of the same title. So please ignore Ch3vr0n and post logfiles, if you have a different version. Which you don't know, so please post logfiles. elby CloneDVD 2 logfiles are welcome, too.

I'm not sure where to get the logfile from

I'm getting a similar error code to Dit's - I'm running AnyDVD and do not have the Clone product

--------------------------
Mine has completed several times (using several versions of AnyDVD including the latest version) resulting in an error

Here is the contents of the information provided using AnyDVD 8.4.5.1:

The normal AnyDVD progress window reports:

Repairing defective DVD structure..
0% Processed

------------------------------

An additional AnyDVD Ripper pop-up window displaying a red circle with an overlayed X:

NavigationPack 6 40087 106 105 VOBU 4 40087 106 Clone 6

This pop-up window has an OK button on it. When I click OK I get the following window:

Dit & others, go to "Please read before you post" in this forum for instructions on how to do a logfile. Here are the instructions below:

When you request assistance on the SlySoft Forum you can greatly increase the effectiveness of any response by reviewing this thread first and then providing the readers with as much information as possible about your problem.

1. Get and install the latest version of AnyDVD as seen at the very top of this Forum
Many times a beta is shown here and this may contain the fix you need for your disc. If not already done, please install that version and proceed as needed.

2. Set "Default" status in AnyDVD
Left click the AnyDVD icon in the system tray (lower right of your screen) and click "default". Try your disc again. If this works we want to know about it anyway. When you post be sure to mention what setting you changed that caused your error.

3. Next, tell us about your problem but explain it and avoid under-statements like:
  • "won't work"
  • "can't copy anything"
  • "stopped working"
  • "Help!!"
  • I COULD NOT MAKE A BACK UP COPY
  • "keeps stopping"
  • "I'm getting errors when I copy"
  • "All other DVDs work, just this one will not"
  • "I am having problems copying my movies"
  • Any idea what I can do about a DVD that won't copy?
Tell us:
  • the title of the disc and its country of origin
  • what you are trying to do or setting you wanted to use when the error occurred
  • IMPORTANT: what is the error message?

4. Not using CloneDVD and you have the "can't copy" scenario? Use the "rip video DVD to hard disc..." option on the right mouse click menu on the AnyDVD tray fox icon and then burn from the Hard Drive and NOT the DVD. If you still get errors then let us know

5. Post an AnyDVD log file. Many times the answer to your question is visible to experienced users or RedFox support or a developer right away.

Ensure Anydvd is running.
  1. Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
  2. Right click the red fox icon on your system tray (to the lower right).
  3. Select "Create Logfile"
  4. Wait for Anydvd to create a log file. In some circumstances this might take 5 minutes or longer.
  5. A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile "Anydvd_Info_<xxxxxxx>.ziplog" (or something similar)
  6. Click "ok". A Windows Explorer will open. You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.ziplog"
  7. Click "Create new topic" on the top or bottom right of a forum section.
  8. Describe the problem
  9. Below the text box you will see 3 buttons. Click the middle one that states "Upload File".
  10. A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the RedFox forums)
  11. Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .ziplog file you created.
  12. Wait for the progress indicator in the top right corner to finish. Then click "Close"
  13. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .ziplog file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at.
