I ripped a dvd to my pc and when I right click the VIDEO_TS and click Play with Windows Media Player, the player opens and does nothing but when I hit the play button I get this message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file"

Any help would be appreciated, I know this much be a noob question

open the folder and play the file "video_ts.ifo" (usually the second file in the list). this should work, presuming you can play dvds without a problem normally.
