Hey,

Trying to get CoD4 working, but not getting by the DVD mount error.
Using the latest GJ as of 06/11/07, Dx9.0c, Windows XP SP1, we believe that CoD is Using Securom7, although one detection software said SecuRom 4.81 (?).

We have run the extended profile search many times (at least 6) (finding about 77 items), but the error still comes up. Runs fine with the disc in the drive.

Where should we go from here? any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help..

Andrew

1. What version of Game Jackal are you running?
Latest as of 06/11/07
2. What Operating system are you using? 64 bit? service pack?
Windows XP Sp2
3. If you have virtual drives, disable them while profiling and playing profiles. This includes Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, Virtual Clonedrive, Clonecdtray, and possibly Anydvd.
Done
4. Remove packet writing software from your system (including Roxio's Directcd, Nero's Incd, Roxio/Sonic's DragtoDisc, Drive Letter Access, CyberLink InstantBurn, NTI's Filecd, etc.)
Done
5. What protection does your game use? Don't know? Find out before posting about issues (and include that information)! Use Protection ID. It's a free program. Use ProtectionID and scan your HD directory where the game is installed (right click the icon on your toolbar, and select "scan files/folders"). Or just scan the main program .exe(s) that you find in the game directory on your hard drive. Provide the protection name and the version number.
Safedisc 4.81
6. What is the name of the game you're trying to run?
Call of Duty 4
7. What is the version of the game?
Original/unpatched
8. Is it cd or dvd version?
DVD
9. What region or country is the original disc from?
North America
10. What cpu are you running?
Athlon 64 3400+
11. What optical drives (dvd-rom,cd-rom, burners) are you using to create profiles with? What firmware version is installed on your reader?
LG DVD-RAM (HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H50L
12. What security software (firewall, antivirus) are you using? Please provide version numbers.
None
13. Describe your problem, provide full error messages, and please state clearly what you were doing when you received those error messages.
Cannot get the game to run from Game Jackal profile. Error message "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart the application" . Ran the profile wizard multiple time, each time it got a little farther along but the game will still not run.
14. You should have two log files in your Game Jackal directory. The first is called. Proc Monitor.log, and the second is called Profile.log (do not post the Profiler.log file... notice the "r" at the end). Copy and past the information into your next post. Here is one way to do it:

ProcMonitor:

It is really SafeDisc 4.81 as you see some 000 files on dvd.

I hope you are meaning latest beta and not just final with "Latest as of 06/11/07".

Does the game work with Jackal if you are disconnecting your physical drives?

The img log is included as below. I didn't know where to find the version of GJ before, but as of now it is 2.9.18.600 (main), .590 driver.

Not sure on the disconnect as I am on the computer right now that does it, but I will try it but will assume the problem is still existing unless I post to correct after.

The ProtectionID data is as follows:

hmmmmm.... just loaded the new ver: 2.9.18.607 and no go.

No Daemon tools loaded (but it is installed). No alcohol. Drive disconnected.
rrrr.... are there any other factors that could inhibit it??? how many objects should the profile be finding? on the "finalizing section". I will try to regen the profile again..... any other ideas?

Thanks for the quick responses btw...!

Andrew

I will need to get a hold of this game and test... Would be good if someone else could let us know if they have had success with this game.

One other thing to try (assuming you are running the latest beta)
1. Create the profile (or using the one you already have).
2. Try and start the game via the GJ profile without the CD/DVD in the drive. Do this as many times as you possibly can before you go nuts. :D
3. Right-click the profile and select "Update profile".

hey.. no, we tried with virt drives and no virt drives - disabled and enabled in memory. the problem is happening right on immediate launch of the profile. Maybe I don't know alot about the software, but I don't think the profile is changing on each re-run of the software being the image/profile of the software is being done correctly. Is the DVD-RAM drive that I am using picking up all the data correctly? I will try it from a Lite-on I have here, I just want to save doing a bunch of steps if they aren't required..

Thanks y'all...

Uninstall Sonic's Drag to Disc (which is packet writing software) and ensure those two entries no longer appear in your filters after rebooting.

Now when I try to run the profile I get instant blue screen of death and restart.
when the disk is in with game jackal it runs.

Create a new profile and ensure those entries I quoted no longer in your filters (check with imgburn). I'm not talking about the actual driver files on your system. I'm talking about filters in your registry.

Is anyone else having the same problems I am having with this load? I figure it has to be some h/w compatibility issues with the DVD-RAM and SecuRom??

Andrew

erm if memory serves the game is protected with safedisc, not securom....

I also have that problem too I can get my Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare to work can you please make a new update to Game Jackal thanks so much.
