Burn copy but, movie looks broken up when played

In other words - by not updating anything - I remain totally immune induced problems, so long as the blank DVD's I buy follow some basic conventions.

You also lose out if the firmware update improves write quality with the media you're using--and especially if something about that media changes at all.

As far as the Clonedvd 4. No its not a type o. The website is www.clonedvd.net. Unless this is not the same company who makes clonedvd 2. I know when I had the clonedvd 2 I had no issues.

CloneDVD2 from Elaboryte Bytes is not the same as the CloneDVD 4 you got from the URL you posted. I won't say for sure that that is your problem but the two programs are not comparable, IMO.

BINGO ... that's the main part of your problem. You succeeded with the real McCoy trial but got sidetracked somewhere and gave your money to those shysters who make the imitation, ripoff program that uses CloneDVD's good name. Sorry for your troubles. If they refuse to give you your money back, call your credit card company, explain the hoax, tell them it is a foreign-based company running a small "front" in the US and you need to have the charges reversed. Get CloneDVD2 here:

As far as memorex and other bad media, I won't offer you any more advice because I know you are offended by such advice. You will eventually encounter bad batches at some point (dependent on when your retail store's stockpiles of your present MID run out and more are ordered) or your backups will degrade (due to the quality of the materials used and the bonding of the layers of the media) and fail to play in your player in as early as a year. I for one pledge to never say "I told you so" if you do discover this. Forgive some of the testy responses but members get ah... testy ... when when encountering resistance to proven advice. Peace.

@ compuman,

Suggest reviewing the SlySoft CloneDVD Forum “Sticky” concerning CloneDVD ->

http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=883

If you purchased CloneDVD from any other source other than SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) or Elaborate Bytes (http://www.elby.ch) you have purchased and are using an inferior rip off copycat software program. The CloneDVD.Net software program is absolute garbage that has a well-documented history as being a buggy problematic product that prays off the good name of the SlySoft/ Elaborate Bytes CloneDVD product.

That is why it is important to provide the Version Number of the Software Program you are currently using when making Forum postings. Experienced knowledgeable informed Forum Members are well aware of the current up to date Version Numbers of SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes software programs and will quickly inform the user that that are using old Versions or in your case the inferior rip of copycat Software Program.

Concerning Memorex Media -> No one is forcing you to use any particular Brand of DVD Media. Experienced knowledgeable informed individuals have made you aware of the problems involved with Memorex Media. You can choose to ignore the advice of experienced knowledgeable informed individuals have provided to you. That choice is yours to make.

Thanks Coaster for your reply. No I did not pay for the clonedvd 4 from this web site. It was only a trail version.( which wasn't any good ) I uninstalled and upgraded my firmware for my NEC DVD+R-ND-3450a thru Dell. ( a Dell pc ) I then installed (thru slysofts website ) CloneDVD 2.9.0.3. I will first try to burn a movie with the Memorex just to see if it will work. I will be doing some research ( with the help from this forum ) to see which is the best blank media out there for this software. Thanks to all for your help. I will keep you updated. I hope with with CloneDVD 2 from slysoft will resolve my issues.:agree:

@ compuman,

There is NEC ND-3450A Firmware Version 1.03C that is RPC1 (Region Free), Auto Bit Setting (+R to DVD-ROM), and RipLocked Removed (Faster Ripping Speed) available. If interested suggest visiting the below Web Link and look under NEC-3450 for “103_RPC1.Zip” ->

http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware

If you are unaware of how to “Flash” the above Firmware, suggest visiting the Liggy and Dee Web Site (http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/) and look under “Documentation” located on the lower left had side of the page and refer to the “Flashing Tutorial”.

http://www.supermediastore.com/supermediacoupon.html?WT.mc_id=AdWordsDVD-Supermediastore

for me its the best website they are fast promt and its a great experice to buy with them. your drive is fine its just your media you gotta avoid. Oh and one last thing just get 8x dvd-r (TYGO2) for TY media

You know i was gonna say when i first read your post that newer movies are not only HEVILY protected but with diffrent schemes so IN case you wer backing up older movies that could of been a reason, and fianly what did you mean by "broken up when played" ???

Well as I stated in my last post, I did upgrade my firmware to my NEC drive and installed the CloneDVD 2 from slysoft website. Also decided to go with the Verbatim blank media. I am happy to report that all is well ( for now ) in the burning department. So far 4 movies ( used the Memorex blank media to see if it would work and it did ) with Clonedvd 2 and AnyDVD. If I do buy Clonedvd 2 after the trial period is over, I hope it will continue to work in the same manner. Thanks to all for the great info. Till next time..............   :D
