I have had this same issue on two drives.
An Asus with the clean 3.01 and 3.02 fw in external NexStar case (USB3)
And an LG that was cross-loaded with the Asus 3.01 fw in external NexStar case (USB3)
In both cases, they have read, played and allowed BRs to be ripped at high speed.
However, putting a DVD in is painful. Most of the time the drives just grind on the DVD. Eventually, I can get one of them to recognize the DVD and read it, but it can take 30+ attempts.
It's so bad I just bought a cheap external DVD drive to do those rips.
Is it the patched firmware that is causing the DVD problems?
I have tried with and without AnyDVD and MakeMKV with the same results.
Thanks
