BGS Season 1 Disc 5 can't RIP (tried two disks)

Getting read errors on BGS Season 1 disc 5 with "Error reading from Drive G:" on two discs of #5(remaining discs in series had no problems) when attempting to rip. info follows:

Summary for drive G: (AnyDVD 6.3.1.5)
TOSHIBA DVD/HDX807616 MC08 10/03/06
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)

Media is a HD DVD.
Booktype: hd-dvd (version 3), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 6382720 sectors (12466 MBytes)
Total size: 9724800 sectors (18993 MBytes)
Video HD DVD label: BATTLESTAR_SEASON_1_DISC_5
Media is AACS protected!
Removed AACS copy protection!

Is it I'm just unlucky and got two bad discs in a row?
