I've tried to research this questions and don't see any answers within any of the forums. I currently use BD-RE discs for my images on my computer. I've used Sony, Panasonic and Verbatim discs, and use ImgBurn as my software. The first 5 to 10 burns on the discs seem flawless. Then I start having "validation" problems from about burn 10 to 20; this can be verified during playback of the movie (stopping, stuttering, etc). Then I eventually run into where the image cannot be burned (ImgBurn errors during burning).

I use an LG bluray burner (don't have the model number handy but it is common to what other members use; about 9 months old).

I know the manufacturers claim 1000's of rewrites, but is that BS? Is anybody else seeing this? Any input would be welcomed.

I've been using the same SL BD-RE at work for testing systems for over 2 years with no issues, and have 3 Panasonic DL BD-RE's that I've also been using for about the same amount of time

I've read quite a few of your posts Adbear and respect your opinion, so please give me your thoughts on the follow up question. Based on my symptoms, do you think it is a hardware problem with the burner, a firmware problem with the burner, some other hardware conflict (SATA Controller, etc.), or a possible software/operating system problem.

Win XP (with SP3 and other updates)
LG GGW-H20L Bluray burner (YL05 firmware)

Let me know if you need more info.

I'd need to know what motherboard you are using to start with

Tried to do a full erase with ImgBurn on a BD-RE DL that worked up until a couple of days ago. Failed. Below is the log:

Another FYI, I do disable AnyDVD when using ImgBurn.

You could try turning off AnyDVD, I never have it running when I'm burning discs

Also, in case the quality of the BD-RE's is a possible culprit, I am using Verbatim (manufactured by Mitsubishi). If you think the quality of these discs is questionable, I am definitely open to another brand.

Having AnyDVD completely off didn't make a difference.

Hi.

It seems I have a similar problem.

Same burner, same motherboard. I'm using vernbatim BDRE25 and tdkwfa-00 for BDRE50.

Did you sort out your problem ?

thank you

I have the same error when erasing/formating a LG BD-RE 25GB disc which came with the BE06 drive. I believe I have only burn on it twice without problem before. Some say the free disc is rubbish.

Would very much like to know a fix if there is any as I have bought some spares of the same make. I am afraid to touch them now.
