BD+ help

I was told by cyberlink the patch would be available for general download on the 8th

Right I emailed Cyberlink because I also wanted the patch and they told me it would be availible for public on Monady the 8th september.

Update on Cyberlink patch

I emailed cyberlink yesterday asking when the patch was to be posted on their website and the support guy responded that he was trying to find a record of my email address associated with a purchase of Powerdvd ultra. I think what ever they were going to release on Monday would have caused more problems with existing movie playback. We need more competition in this market so that these idiots would get their act together. I would actually purchase the software when this DRM sh*t is finalized. I don't pay for software when it only works some of the time. Thats like buying a new car that only starts on the weekdays.

As of yesterday, all you have to do is try to play one of the new Blu-Ray titles that won't rip. The message that popped up before that said ""A critical component of the player requires periodic update.New movies could fail to play if the component is not updated promptly.Would you like to update now?"
Just click "YES" and you will be directed to download the new patch. Just be warned that it took like 45 minutes for it to download though.

Can you post the file on a site somwhere? I currently don't have the disc to trigger the update. Thanks.

still won't play back Surf's up though

Me Too I get Green Screen of Video Death following installing patch - but WinDVD for BD plays Rise of Silver Surfer with a stutter and any older BD's are fine.

Think I may roll back to pre-patch PowerDVD - at least I can play my Backed-up material.

Blu-ray with BD+ is just not worth the hassle.

If Pirates of Caribbean at Worlds End has got BD+ then I will go over to HD-DVD

I've got a feeling that just about every new release will have BD+.

Disney is not yet using bd+ only fox. powerdvd works for me with F4 and patch sent from email support. :(

Yes, up until James and Peer will break it.

bd+ is a disc security program that runs in player vm. F4 protection is different than Day after tomorrow! so they can not break bd+ completely, only each disc. It is exciting to see what they try :agree: :)

Cyberlink sent me a full installer rather than an updater, and now surf's up works fine

CPU Usage with BD+

CPU usage on a Core 2 (6400 2.13GHz) is running at 100% with F4 RoSS. 60% with Casino Royale and 3% with SD DVD. I think this is why my machine stutters with BD+ and WinDVD for BD.

Has anyone monitored CPU usage with PowerDVD Patched?
