On version 8.2.7.0 and get a IO File 3: fail during ripping movie at around 40%

The latest "beta" release is always at the top of this forum. They usually have the latest DVDs patched. Use them often.

Concur with James...if AnyDVD was the issue, the process wouldn't even start, let alone fail at 50%. A good test also, can other disks be successfully unlocked and ripped with your system?
 
It ripped through without any more issues after spraying the drive out with canned air.
