    Hello,
I am trying to read a DVD with my portable ASUS SBC-06D2X-U.
I get the "Failed to read DVD!" error box.
The output in the AnyDVD window says "Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)", is that part of the problem?
Because I do have my DVD drive set to region 1 (see attached screen shots).
I'm also attaching a log file.

P.S. This is my first time posting, so hopefully I'm doing this file attachment thing right.

Wrong section moved. The drive section is not meant for decryption problems. And yes, anydvd is correct. Your drive region is NOT set.

EXIT anydvd completely, the tray icon can NOT be active. Now go into device manager again,... SURPRISE!

Besides the region setting, there is this:

Which are most likely because anydvd fails to decrypt properly because of the under region. The only way to exclude that is with a new logfile after region has been set.

Yep, that was it. After exiting AnyDVD, I saw that the region wasn't set. After setting it and restarting AnyDVD, I was able to read the entire disc.
    Thank you!

Sorry about posting in the wrong section.

Moving topics is one of our jobs, don't sorry about it. It happens. This time it worked because of how anydvd works. When anydvd is active, and you set the region (or attempt to) it fools windows into thinking it is when it's actually not. That's because it sits in a later that operates between the os and the actual hardware.

Main thing is, problem solved. If there's anything else, you know where to find us.
