Like I said, I'm wondering if I made a mistake purchasing Clone DVD and Any DVD.....which you all know adds up to about $90 when purchased separately. Some movies copy with no problems, but there are those others that give me an ".ifo error". (These are mostly Sony movies) And, I have tried to copy Casion Royale TWO different times, TWO different movie dvds and got the same error message, so I don't think it was a bad DVD.
I tried to copy The Butterfly Effect2 and The Holiday and got the same error message. I don't think Butterfly Effect2 is a Sony Movie, though....can anyone tell me why I'm having these problems? I have the most current versions of both Clone and Any DVD. Any DVD is Version 6.1.3.6 and Clone DVD is Version 2.9.0.3.

The reason I mention Sony is because they're the ones I've had the most trouble with....imagine that.

Packet writing software allows users to drag and drop files to a dvd-r or a blank disc as they would to a floppy. Some examples are Roxio Directcd, Nero Incd, and Sonic Solutions Drive Letter Access. If you have these installed, uninstall them

I can see that you're using Anydvd 6.1.3.6. However, I would appreciate a version number for Clonedvd.

Unless the Maxell is "Maxell Plus" or "Maxell Broadcast Quality", I would choose better quality blank media.

    and

However, blank media isn't your issue at the moment.

How are you using Clonedvd? You are not using "Rip video-dvd to harddisk" in Anydvd, right? Soing so can cause problems. You should be using this method

If you are then chances are you have a bad original disc, even if it plays fine--or your optical drives simply can't read the disc properly. And in this case, I (strongly) suspect your optical drives can't read the disc properly. What is the solution? Contact Sony and tell them you want a new disc. Read http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=25616&postcount=1 (there's a phone number listed)

The only firmware download I can see is for the DUW1616L PRO burner. And I'm not sure if yours is the Pro:
    http://usa.aopen.com/userdownload_List.aspx?RecNo=11131&Model=DUW1616L PRO
If it's not, then don't download that file.

If you're experiencing issues with most movies (and only if you're having problems with most movies), then I recommend doing the following:

    1. Click this

Do what it says to do.

    2. visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=21907&postcount=11 (thanks to Zebadee)
Use one of the programs mentioned, and list your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post.

    Or for XP users only,
    Click Start, Run
    type regedit
    Go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

We want what's listed in "LowerFilters" and "UpperFilters". List your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post. (If you're doing step 2).

Thanks....and unless I'm misunderstanding, as stated in the original post the version of Clone DVD I'm using is Version 2.9.0.3.

When I went to update the IDE/ATAPI drivers I got stumped...he said choose the one that's not the secondary...errrr....I'm lost. lol So, I've included a screen shot of my device manager. I have a Parallel and a Serial one....and that's it. My C drive is on my Serial ATA drive...if that helps.

Here is the Upper and Lower Filter info. as requested...
    LowerFilters
    type:REG_MULTI_SZ
    data:ElbyDelay AnyDVD PXHelp20

    UpperFilters
    type:REG_MULTI_SZ
    data: InCDPass incdrm

I will check on the ide/ata busmaster driver and uninstall Nero.... :(

Bleh. lol. I didn't see it. I'm sorry.

    I don't see a screenshot.

Ugh. Uninstall Incd. Ensure "incdpass" and "incdrm" are no longer listed after uninstalling Incd.

You don't need to uninstall Nero. But you do need to uninstall Incd. You can uninstall Incd using Nero's setup/uninstall program.
Incd is packet writing software. If you want that type of functionality, I recommend investing in a dvd-ram burner and dvd-ram discs instead (dvd-ram is not extremely expensive) as that technology tends to be more stable and causes less compatibility issues.

Well, for now, ensure "incdpass" and "incdrm" are no longer listed in your filters after uninstalling Incd.
    And then try this method

I have Nero on my system, by the way. I didn't allow Nero to install Incd though.

Incd does cause a lot of problems on some systems, so it's entirely possible removing it fixed the issue for you.

Not having that incd stuff listed is great! So, try again.

OMG, I have the HUGEST smile on my face. It's copying it!
Mr./Mrs. Webslinger, you ROCK. I would normally assume you're male but you just never know! lol At first I thought, oh ffs...this is ridiculous...but you got me through it and trust me, you have no idea what a challenge that can be! hahaha They call me "Special K" at work...no explanation needed there....lmao. Thank you so much. :D

    I'm male--well, the last time I checked, anyway . . .
    ;)

lol. My girlfriend just passed by, read my screen, and gave me a weird look.

You posted a screenshot. Many people don't know how to do that.

Anyway, I'm glad everything is working for you. (I would, at this time, recommend using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blank media if you can find any). Maxell Plus and Maxell Broadcast Quality are excellent, but the generic Maxell you tend to find in general stores, I would probably stay away from.

It's amazing how much trouble packet writing software (incd) can cause, isn't it? Anyway, again, you can install Nero. Just ensure you don't install Incd along with it.

Ok, Mr. Webslinger...I'm a graphic artist, so I know the basics of web stuff...and I built this computer myself... I can do lots of stuff with computers but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out my cell phone...hahaha
And, I really only know the basics of computers.

I just bought this container of 50 discs but I'll get Verbatim or that other one next time...

Ok, I'm off for now....have a great day and thanks again! :)

It seems obvious to me you know your way around your system. For some people it takes me 4-5 pages to get them to list filters and uninstall packet writing software.

    You too
