Hi,;)
I noticed you have 2-tutorials on the main page but I was wondering if we could get an AnyDVD-HD Tutorial? Mr.Frank Hollander did a WONDERFUL job creating the 2 already and would like one for the HD-Version of AnyDVD.. if it's possible...

Cheers.............

Thanks 4 nothing

Thanks for your comment and I really appreciate it. I had a lot fun making those and I am really glad these tutorials are appreciated.

What would you suggest such a tutorial should show. At the moment, using AnyDVDHD is either a "rip video...." or "rip to image" operation and aside from a few options for region detection there is really not a lot to do.

Give me an idea or two and I'll take this into consideration.

Well I was wanting to set-up my pc to do BR copying for home use and I thought having a tutorial for the BR process would be great:>

It's really very simple....

Here is what I normally tell people in Support:

Regarding AnyDVD HD's capabilities and further handling of BluRay content: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html

You can rip the BluRay disc (BD) movie to your hard drive, but it cannot be burned or transcoded with CloneDVD.
CloneDVD is not sold as a BluRay product and will not be adapted for that either.

To rip the BD to your hard drive, right-click the fox icon in the task tray and choose "Rip Video DVD to HardDisk..."

See this also: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=5655

Until we have a Clone product for BluRay, there is a full-disc backup method (provided the BD source fits onto a BD-R/RE) using some FREE software:
Download and install ImgBurn (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/burning/imgburn.cfm or http://www.imgburn.com - it's a free tool).

Then insert a BD and let AnyDVDHD scan it. Then open ImgBurn.

- Select "Mode" and then "read", then the "source" to "create image file from disc". ImgBurn will create an image of the BD on the hard drive.
- Then insert a blank BluRay disc
- Select the "write" mode "write image to blank disc".

To fit to a 25GB blank, see this Forum discussion: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=13846&highlight=shrink+BluRay
OR:
With compression:
- AnyDVD HD ("rip video...." BDMV folder or "rip to image..." ISO image)
- BD Rebuilder (down to approximately 23.3 gb on a BD-R single layer) http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_video/convert_video/bd_rebuilder.cfm
- Imgburn

Without compression:

- AnyDVD HD (BDMV folder or ISO image)
- Clown_BD http://www.clownbd.com/
- Imgburn

Your step by step instructions is hands on practice with these software programs.

And the internal settings for region, etc. are available as needed beyond the "default" portrait. Keep in mind that every option has an explaining balloon text on the right mouse click on that item.

Hope this helps. 8)

Wow,

Thank you Sir. This is what I needed to know. Sorry for getting a little antzi concerning no replys. You surpassed my expitations.

No one answered your question because is was the wrong question. There is no need for an AnyDVDHD tutorial, right click on the systray icon, choose rip to hard disc or image and that's it. Process and burn with other software. AnyDVDHD is just a ripper. If you want to know how to process a ripped bluray to disc (DL or BD) here is a good tuturial using BDRB, my favorite. I find it easier to rip to HD rather than image but others do otherwise. It has never failed for me AND IT'S FREE.

http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides/blu-ray-copy/262-copy-blu-ray-using-bd-rebuilder

believe me when I say that the compression to a simple DL disc is phenomenal. I have a 60" Sony and I really can't tell the difference from the original. Keep in mind that though it is compressed, it is still bluray and you need a bluray player to play it. It will not play on a standard dvd player.

Cheers and thanks for your help
Soooo,,,
(let me be sure that I fully understand):bang:

After reading your reply and the links instructions about using BR-Rebuilder along with ImgBurn is it safe for me to say that I can use my Regular DVD Burner on my PC and use a DL-DVD Disk to create a backup copy of a BR-Disk and that the DL-DVD Disk will then be as a BR-DISK? Will my PS3 then reconize the disk as a BR-DISK and play it? Sounds Pretty COOL! Sure would help me save from the need to buy a BR-Burner for my PC and the BR-DISKS!

Cheers.......:agree:

Not quite: Your 'regular DVD burner' won't be able to read the Blu-Ray original.
You'll need to upgrade the drive to one that can read Bly-Rays.

Otherwise, yes.

Using BD-RB, you can compress the BD down to a size that will fit onto either a single or DL DVD, but containing BD format content, and it will play as a BD in HD.

Since it looks like you need to upgrade your drive, get a one that does BD burning too, and that gives you the option to shrink it less, to BD-25 and write it out to a BD-25 blank.

I am having difficulty finding info concerning setting up AnydvdHD using its 24hz(23.976?) ability. I tried to set it but always comes up with "unable". Please direct me to appropriate thread. Thanks
