Today, after some time (about 6 months), went to download a movie (non Bluray) and noticed the Anydvd HD icon has disappeared. I went to update page and updated latest version of HD. Still, no icon. I have Anydvd, Clone BD and CloneDvd icons. I am running Windows 10 and check all Redfox programs from the start button. Please help. Thank you.

It might be that you activated "Hide icon" in the Settings menu.

Just try Ctrl- Alt- Del to invoke "task manager". Does it show AnyDVDApplication in the list of background processes?

If not just run the program from the start menu. Then check the settings. Uncheck " Hide icon", check "Autostart". Have a look at my settings.

Thank you coopervid for the response. I checked and compared my checked boxes with yours and they are the same. I even checked and unchecked box that refers to "Hide Icons" and rebooted computer. Still no Anydvd HD icon. Any other suggestions?

Uninstall the program, reinstall. Warning: If you decide to remove the registry information make sure you have your key handy.

Try this:
Right-click on your taskbar, and click on "Taskbar settings".
Scroll down to "Notification area" and click on "Select which icons appear on the taskbar."
Find AnyDVD in the list and make sure it's enabled.

That's another excellent hint. He just has to check as well in task manager that AnyDVD is actually running.

I don't know why, but Windows does this to me all the time. All of a sudden, AnyDVD or others will disappear from the system tray. I'll look, and Windows has turned off the showing of the icon. So annoying...

Windows has a nasty habit of changing user settings on its own, without provocation, and without informing the user it has done so.

Probably the most annoying instance I ever heard was like in 2002. Back then, Windows has a screen saver where it would use the Internet Explorer file cache for images and randomly display pictures from it. Someone had a different screen saver enabled, but Windows changed it to this IE one without user request or acknowledgement. And they only found out about it when they had company over and porn from their IE cache started randomly popping up on their screen saver!
