What's this supposed to be for? Any reason NOT to leave it on?

Some U.S. anime BDs are now using BD country codes to block playback outside North America, especially in Japan (even though it's Region A just like the Americas). For now, I would suggest using it only if you get messages that a BD from your region (or with region code properly removed) won't play in your country. Indiscriminate use could cause problems with menus, the main purpose of the country code.
