AnyDVD (HD) 6.4.0.7 beta

Yep, so for now, since HP DVD Play crashes with HD-DVD titles I am using WinDVD for the HD-DVD discs I have, and HP DVD Play for the Blu-ray.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (purchased from Japan), region free
Harry Potter II-V (all U.S. versions), region free
Casino Royale, Region A
Planet Earth (U.S. version), region free

These either crash, or the menus are screwed up.

I'll post a couple log files. Again, these work just fine with the Cyberlink software and AnyDVD HD. But not with WinDVD when AnyDVD HD is running.

The log files and associated behavior with WinDVD and AnyDVD HD are for the following discs:

1. Planet Earth: Menus messed up.
2. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Japan): Crashes after the FBI warning (WTF, why would a disc bought in Japan display a FBI warning??)
3. Casino Royale, Region A: Menus messed up.
Can you try to disable all extended HD DVD options (remove first play, etc.) in AnyDVD?

Well, I could, but I don't see how that would help since all the discs I'm having trouble with are Blu-ray and not HD-DVDs.

The only HD-DVDs I have are the Matrix movies and they work just fine.

Oh, sorry, this was a misunderstanding. I thought HD DVDs cause problems.
Can you please try to delete the iviaspi filter? It seems to cause trouble.

USA Bluray Region A

Can you disable BD options one by one until the "loop" stops? Start with Region Code removal. Followed by BD+. Maybe there is a bug in Region code removal causing AnyDVD to "loop".

hehe. Did you look at the log files?

Already deleted the ivaspi filter. :D

Right you are. And you rebooted after you deleted it?
Certainly not a certificate issue. Any difference if you disable Region lock removal?

Oh yes, rebooted too.

I'll try disabling region lock removal. Though region lock removal is not a huge thing for me at this point, it will be in the future if I purchase any Blu-rays from Greece.

Region lock removal is my whole reason for using AnyDVD in the first place, as I have several Region 2 DVDs purchased from Greece and I know in the future I'll be buying High-definition titles from Greece.

Let's see how the region lock removal goes...

Ok. I found a Blu-ray title that works perfectly with WinDVD 9 and AnyDVD HD.

It is DVE Digital Video Essentials HD Basics, Blu-ray edition, by Joe Kane Productions. Region-free Blu-ray disc.

Disc does not crash, and menus work just fine. I'm including the logfile here in case there's something there that will help.

I see no reason why Chocolate doesn't work. MESGR (what's that? you didn't say) uses BD-J with certificate. Specify "doesn't work", please.

does it matter if it uses a certificate?
from what i have seen looks like all the bd-j movies are self signed, and the public key is in the certificates folder.

So you could just generate your own key pair and sign the jar with it.

Yes, no and yes, that's the plan.

Walk Hard

I originally used AnyDVD-HD 6.4.0.4 to rip Walk Hard to
Hard Disc. It worked fine and I can play it fine on the PC.

However - when I stream it to my PS3 from the PC using
Twonky - I only get the DD Spanish Sound Track.

I believe the only English Sound Track is TrueHD. I assume
Twonky does not know what to do so it picks the DD Spanish
Sound Track.

I just loaded 6.4.0.7 to try the same operation again.

It is in process now. If my theory is right - probably nothing
will change. I'll let you know.

FYI - with 6.4.0.7 - AnyDVD-HD Tells me it was not able
to properly handle the Java Certificate and the Menus might
not work properly. Walk Hard is a Blu-Ray 2.0 Profile Disc.

I'm willing to bet the Slysoft boys and girls would appreciate an AnyDVD log file posted of that particular movie as I believe it's the frist BD Live disc to be released.

I'd be happy to do that if someone wants to tell me how to do it :bang:

Awesome! Thanks for posting that. Not sure if they need it or not but since it's the first BD Live title I figured they might want to check it out.

You have so much packet writing software on your system, I'm surprised your system can read anything properly.

InCDPass (system32\drivers\InCDPass.sys), Version: 5.9.4.0 (5.9.4.0)
Company: Nero AG
Product: InCD

incdrm (system32\drivers\InCDRm.sys), Version: 5.9.4.0 (5.9.4.0)
Company: Nero AG
Product: InCD Reader

Incd (and packet writing software in general) is bad news. Nero's Incd is packet writing software, which interferes with a lot of programs including Slysoft's. If you want drag-and-drop functionality, use dvd-ram instead (with a FAT file format), which is more stable.

clbstor (system32\drivers\clbstor.sys), Version: 5.0.0.3004 (5.0.0.3004)

Typically that filter is installed by Arcsoft Photo Impressions. It's known to cause a lot of problems

I recommend doing the following:

i) Create a backup of your registry
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "InCDPass". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "incdrm". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "clbstor". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "drvmcdb". Click "Remove selected filter". Select "DLACDBHM" Click "Remove selected filter". Select "Afc". Click "Remove selected filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

Keep in mind the programs that installed those filters may no longer work properly.
