Kaspersky is reporting that AnyDVD tray is infected with Trojan Downloader w32 kamir.

You may need to work with them to get that sorted out.

Kaspersky is reporting that AnyDVD tray is infected with Trojan Downloader w32 kamir.

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.1.325 (which includes Kaspersky Antivirus) with the latest database update is reporting no such thing under Vista 64 bit Ultimate edition SP1 nor under Windows XP pro (32 bit) SP3. So what program, version, and OS are you talking about? And where did you download Anydvd from?

Provided you downloaded the file from Slysoft's website, there is no trojan. If you downloaded Anydvd from somewhere else, you take your chances.

You may need to work with them to get that sorted out.

While I don't work for Slysoft, I feel it's not Slysoft's responsibility to fix bugs in other companies' programs.

According to Virus Total there are 4 false positives: Kaspersky 7.0.0.125, Panda 9.0.0.4, VBA32 3.12.8.4, and Webwasher-Gateway 6.6.2.

Contact your antivirus vendor if you encounter a problem. You can send the file and they'll analyze it and if it is a false positive [which it is] they should rectify it in their newer virus signatures. The file is clean.

Well I was not stating this in a derogatory manner. I was purely stating a fact. I am using Kapersky 7.0.0.125. It did infact alarm me everytime a disc was inserted or removed that AnyDVD contained a trojan downloader. Since I am a registered user I did download the program from slysoft, and I doubted that it is infact infected I told it to skip removing the file. I only posted this on slysofts site so that they can inform Kaspersky if needed of something that may produce a false positive. The following is from my Kaspersky Detected log. Alert Trojan Virus From Latest Download

Heads up, Forum members. I recently downloaded the latest AnyDVD update 6462. When I rebooted my Anti-Virus alerted me to a Trojan Virus in the AnyDVD program. I removed it from my computer. I have notified management and hopefully they will fix this right away.:bang:

It's a false positive.

Refer here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=19551

me too

I also have the same problem w/ the latest update of Kaspersky & 6.4.6.2 ...I thought it might be a false positive and from what I have read the forum ...mostly agrees

Kaspersky is a very good AV product and I used it for almost 10 years but even they make mistakes now and then. :)

problem with TrojanDownloader.Win32.Hmir.koq

hi folks,

i'm using xp sp3 with newest updates an ksapersky internet security 8.0.0.357 (a.b.c) with newest updates too.

there is no chance to use anydvd, because kaspersky finds this trojandownloader in anydvdtray.exe. whenever i try to install anydvd again, kaspersky deletes this file an i cannot use anydvd at all.

as a registered user i only download my file from http://www.slysoft.com/de/download.html

actually it seams as there is either a problem with this file, or with the kaspersky virusdefinition. i would really appreciate slysoft to work on the file or server, or to contact kaspersky if there is truely a false positive, because ... not to use anydvd really sucks! :(

p.s.: please don't mind my bad english (*g*) and, by the way, i would be happy to get a note, when the problem ist fixed

:bang:

You know what's kind of funny is that I was not having issues with Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.1.325 and Anydvd.

I then took a look at Kaspersky's website and noticed that Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 was available, so I downloaded and installed it (it's free to upgrade if you have a valid license from an older version).

8.0.0.454 is in fact giving the same problem that everyone else here is reporting.

I've been shoving Anydvdtray.exe in the trusted zone and the exclusion list, but each time I try to install 6.4.6.2, Kaspersky decides to move Anydvdtray.exe in the untrusted zone. Uhhh . . .

When installing Anydvd, Kaspersky pops up a message asking if you want to "allow" the recommended action or "skip" (not delete the file or modify) Anydvdtray.exe. I select "skip", and Kaspersky deletes Anydvdtray.exe anyway.

Somehow installing 8.0.0.454 with default settings caused this issue to occur.

Obviously, the problem is on Kaspersky's end.

The definition files released Sunday, August 24, 2008 21:02:47 are flagging the file. The specific version of Kaspersky is likely irrelevant.
