American Epic playback problems

Using AnyDVD HD 8.5.20 on Default settings, I used "Rip to image" option on the following Blu Ray disc, with "Keep Protection" off (box is unticked). The copy process completes without any error messages. Mounting the .ISO image file using VirtualCloneDrive 5.5.0.0 also works without any error messages.

However playback of the disc image gives the following errors:

1) in VLC 3.0.12, this error message is immediately shown on the video playback area after pressing Play: "This Blu-ray disc is authorized for Region A only. Please try in a different player that is enabled for Region A." Playback is stopped at that point.
2) In MPC-HC 1.7.13 (which doesn't have a Blu-Ray menu manager), the default movie starts off playing fine, but after about 14 minutes the following error message is displayed in the video playback area: "Copy detected (or a rip tool is running if you are trying to watch this movie on your PC)."

Here is what I know about the disc:

Title: American Epic
Copyright: 2017 Lo-Max Films, Thirteen Productions LLC, and BBC.
2-disc blu-ray set (the problem disc is disc 1)
ISBN: 978-1-62789-472-2

The log file is attached.
