AMD has released updated drivers.

Catalyst 11.12 release notes: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion1112.aspx.

Catalyst 11.12 Official drivers: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx.

For gamers using Radeon HD 5000 & 6000 series videocards AMD is recommending the official Catalyst 12.1 Preview rivers. These preview drivers contains all the gaming optimizations from the Catalyst 11.11c Performance drivers, the additional features of the official Catalyst 11.12 drivers, and some further gaming optimizations.

Please tell me you dont use AMD video cards.:p They have no Cuda, they all are second class to Nvidia in every way, JMHO.;) Even in AMD Crossfire they are not capable of keeping up with a good Nvidia Card.:disagree:

The below is quoted from Wikipedia

Advantages
  • CrossFire can be implemented with varying-GPU cards of the same generation (this is in contrast to Nvidia's SLI, which generally only works if all cards have the same GPU). This allows buyers who have varying budgets over time to purchase different cards and still get the benefits of increased performance. With the latest generation cards, they will only crossfire with other cards in their sub series. For example, GPU in the same series can be crossfired with each other. So a 5800 series GPU (e.g. a 5830) can run together with another 5800 series GPU (e.g. 5870). However GPU's not in the same hundred series cannot be crossfired successfully. (e.g. a 5770 cannot run with a 5870)
  • ATI crossfire configurations can run many monitors of varying size and resolution, while SLI only allows two monitors. The exception is when Nvidia surround is being used though monitors must be the same resolution for this to work.
Disadvantages

If an OpenGL game does not have a CrossFire profile, the Catalyst AI system will set the rendering mode to Scissor by default, with no way to change it to a more suitable or faster mode, such as AFR. However, SLI allows the rendering mode to be set for each application manually, even for games which do not have an existing profile. Setting Catalyst AI to 'Advanced' allows manual mode setting for Direct 3D games, but not OpenGL games, to AFR

I don't use Crossfire or SLI. I stick with a single GPU. I've [mainly] used 3dfx, NVIDIA, and ATI videocards with my last two being ATI. I miss my 3dfx Voodoo5 5500. I've been very pleased with the Radeon HD 4870 and 5870. CUDA is something I can live without and PhysX impresses me even less.

NVIDIA and ATI have their positives and negatives. NVIDIA may have caught up some lost ground but they are again behind in product release and their market share has slipped. The Fermi debacle lead to ATI getting newer products to market much faster and the newer Radeon HD 7000 series cards will arrive in January 2012. NVIDIA will again fall months behind here and that doesn't help them at all.
